Poll tl;dr

I come back once a day to peruse, confirm the WAYWRN circle-j is still intact, look at recent non-sart looks, and head back to Entertainment/Culture & Health/Body.

Most of my time spent on SF is searching the archives to give me ideas for bespoke commissions. I like reading discussions about approaches to design and construction, fabric/color/pattern choices, etc.

I only come here just to see what spoopoker is doing next. Some say this is unhealthy, my response is that they just don't understand.

Needs a "to dig through the archives" section, imho. Whatever one thinks of the current state of affairs, it's the depth of the place that makes it valuable.

My votes were for:

To discuss level 100 warlock ****, bespoke, custom, MTM are my interests, RTW and labels bore me

I am pretty clueless about mens fashion, but love it. 90% of the threads here are not helpful

I come here for the snark

I enjoy discussing clothes with similar minded hobbyists, and the good old days are right now.

Gets me away from the wife and kids

The apparent contradiction between the first two choices is the result of me having been an AAAC member for over 5 years and lurking here roughly as long, but having a very different sense of style compared to the groupthink on both boards.

The ones I voted for, plus I'm bored at work. Oh, and I enjoy making and selling pocket squares on B&S.

I don't consider it a hobby, it is about the ongoing study and evolution of style and fashion whether it is RTW or bespoke. But what keeps me returning are discussions and sharing sources and styles with people who appreciate it. Having been involved in design and color for 35+ years, clothing is a natural extension of my lifestyle and career. I've also met some great guys here who I see regularly in real life.

I really don't know why half of the people are here. It isn't to talk about style or fashion. They just seem to want to play on the style forum jungle gym and say silly things. Thats OK, but not when they get nasty and dilute good threads with their trash.

But for the guys who have something to offer

I absolutely adore this attitude and plan to emulate it with regards to my world view on clothing-stylistic sorts of things.
