Yeah, if it is worth watching, it is worth watching.I never watch a movie or television show without giving it my full attention. It's like reading a book. I'm either watching it or it's turned off. Sporting events I will duck in or out of. I can't stand to be in a place that has a TV providing background noise.
My family didn't even own a TV until I was 6yo, primarily because there wasn't a station where we lived. The first few years were pretty bleak and by the time things improved a bit I was too busy with cars and girls to bother with it. For probably about 20 years I rarely watched it so even now unless it's fairly engrossing I have no interest. My brother who is 6 years younger than me hardly turns his off but he grew up with kid focused shows that didn't exist when I was his age.Yeah, if it is worth watching, it is worth watching.
I won’t deny I can use my phone sometimes, but the TV/movie is the primary focus (and if I am doing it too much it is probably a sign that the show isn’t worth my time).
Looking forward to this
Oh, very much the same.I'm kind of fond of that Native American cop lady from the show.
It's ril good...
I've been wanting a new spy show, and saw Fassbender was in a new one.
3 minutes in, I said WTF, paused, and googled "is The Agency a remake of The Bureau?"
Answer: yes. So that's off my list. The Bureau is a perfect show that needs no remake.
I just found "Condor" from a few years ago. I'm liking it so far.
Not a spy thriller exactly but I'm enjoying The (new) Day of the Jackal. A new season coming 2025. Wife's family plot line is kinda annoying but doesn't eat up tooo much screen time
It did...Did Condor hold up for you?
I watched the old Redford version and Marathon man with Dustin Hoffman not long ago. Marathon man doesn't hold up as well.It did...
2 seasons, and I enjoyed it. I realized it is also based on a book that was a film.
Three Days of the Condor with Robert Redford. But that came out in 1975.
Comical body count, don't get attached to anyone
Not having seen The Bureau, The Agency is very well done. I'm sure the original was great and I'll give it a go if it pops back onto Prime or other service. Fassbender unraveling while juggling his love life, teenage daughter, a captured spy and a little war in Ukraine is believable.
Agency's almost over and Jackal was a fun watch, I'll need something else in the genre. Did Condor hold up for you?
Finished this over the holidays. It didn't immediately grab me but I stuck with it after the first episode. Lack of realism aside, it's an entertaining watch. Like you, the wife/brother in law took me out of it but I can see why they wanted to create a bit more turmoil for Jackal.
Costume designer did a great job. Jackal's wardrobe was impeccable and clearly well thought out. Bespoke suits, great textures, etc. I noticed his watches and read that Omega was a sponsor.
I watched the old Redford version and Marathon man with Dustin Hoffman not long ago. Marathon man doesn't hold up as well.
We could do with a rewatch. I can't remember much of S1 but loved it.W1 and I rewatched Severance s1, and it's still great. I'm really looking forward to the new season.
