What to wear with these light brown loafers?

Hello so I am going to a semi-formal event and was wondering what outfits i could wear with these loafers i recently was given as a gift. I really prefer to wear these shoes since they're gift and I they're also very comfortable. The colour theme of the even is red, gold and black if that help at all. Thank you in advance.

Semi formal? As in a school formal?

Yes as in school formal though it won't be a completely formal event where we'll be wearing tuxedo, full suits etc.

You could go with something along the lines of blue/navy coloured suit (goes with the colour of the loafers), trousers cuffed and hemmed at the ankle (if it isn't too cold), no socks, white shirt, no tie, and a red and gold pocket square.

Alternatively drop the jacket and wear a tie.

Those loafers are far too casual to be worn at a semi-formal event. Reserve them to wear casually with shorts and chinos.
