I have been to a few of those places, most of the one's outside of africa aren't that bad. I've been to a couple of the ones in africa, they are that bad. I don't like bangladesh, either, but it isn't the most horrible place I've been. Sri Lanka I Like -I've actually planned on taking my famly for vacation there.

I take your mentioning Atlanta as a direct insult. Outside NOW!.. I'll beat you to within... Ooops, hang on!.. I've just noticed your rather menacing pics in another sub-forum. You were probably right after all Lord Kunk. Please ignore this post. No offence intended

I'll go pretty much anywhere... I've already been to North Korea and I'm going to Iran in the fall. The only places I don't want to go are places that are truly dangerous (Somalia and Afghanistan), places that everyone agrees are boring (i.e. Abu Dhabi), and places that are completely filthy and disgusting (i.e. New Delhi and most other big Indian cities).

Pretty much any part of Florida, pre-oil spill or otherwise. No offense to FLMtnMan. It's just not my cup of tea. I'm a California man, though, and I think people tend to be one or the other when it comes to these two states.

wat?

Indiana isnt that bad. Naptown is a great little city. Kentucky has some nice outdoor areas. Michigan and Ohio, well, you got me there...

And the moon would be so bad ass. That would be my #1 place to visit if I could, no doubt. Seeing as how only a handful of people have been there.

You're generalizing across entire continents??! I've seen a single country in Central America so why visit any in South America??!

clubby's point was overly simplistic, but I think you all are being a bit harsh. Vietnam and Cambodia are countries that have distinct cultures and identities, but they are a whole lot more similar than, say, Vietnam and Egypt. I think he was trying to say that given a wide variety of interests and limited time, he would prefer to visit parts of the world he has not yet seen.

As for the original question, I am going to avoid the obvious hellholes in this country and without and say Scandinavia. Don't know why -- it just seems too clean and orderly and I like places that are a bit rough around the edges. I am open to having my mind changed, however.

Some of you appear to be extremely ignorant, honestly.

Some of the places listed here I've enjoyed time in and that time definitely changed my life for the best.

One of the biggest misconceptions here is that certain places are very dangerous. I've walked around Mexico City by my lonesome (avoiding a small part literally called "rough area") as well as a good 4 big Mexican cities and plenty of small ones. If you steer clear of the border towns its safer than any big American city. If you're not in the drug business you're more likely to get robbed in your own city. Also Moscow is one of the safest cities I've been to, Helsinki has a higher murder rate. Those blood thirsty Finns! The beta cities and smaller ones aren't any more dangerous just its hard to get around if you don't speak Russian since many people in Moscow speak English even if its not great.

The only place I wouldn't want to go to Las Vegas, but I've been there already, and its nothing more than an amusement park for the ignorant, just to milk people of their money. I'm no mark.

Africa is one of the most beautiful places I've been to. The beaches of Zanzibar is where I think G-d lives if he exists. Victoria falls was the most breathtaking sight I've seen of that nature, and swimming in a little pool right before the apex where the water falls down is quite exhilarating. The people are also extremely hard working, optimistic, and kind hearted.
