I think Ceremony was their first. That's another fave of mine. So many good songs. Joy Division will always be more legendary, but for my money New Order was a better band.

saw MMW at Masada Marathon in Milan: never again. Now real jazz....

Their Masada **** is really weird but so is all the other masada stuff. Don't write them off on that. They're definitely not as "jazz" as they started out but they're still pushing boundaries in the genre, unless you're Wynton Marsalis and think jazz doesn't exist post-1960.
