What color pants to wear with this coat?

Sorry, I almost hate to ask these types of questions but I need some help matching. I've attached a pic of the actual light blue coat I plan to wear with a plain white shirt, no tie. What's a nice color pant to wear with this? I'm a young guy, if that matters. Also, I'd prefer the most versatile color possible since I'm just starting to build my "collection" of pants (on a budget).

Also, is it absolutely unsuitable to wear this color at night? I don't have any dark sport coats yet.

A dark kakhi would work nicely with that coat or a lighter brown.

White, any off-white, stone, oyster, etc., to any pale brown or tan. Maybe a light gray. Since it is a summer color and a summer coat (note button color), I would not do anything darker than tan.

What is the material?
