My daughter's middle school band is playing Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4 so now that's stuck in my head.



She plays clarinet in the band but is also a very good keyboard and piano player so I told her she should ask her teacher if they can do that. One of her friends is in the school band and is a phenomenal guitar player (her dad owns a guitar shop in town and gives lessons and her older brother is a professional musician who has toured with Green Day and now works on film scores for Sony or Universal or something out in Hollywood) so I suggested they could get her to do the guitar part in the song instead of just playing drums since it would be pretty kick a55 to see a bunch of 8th graders playing this with the guitar and keys instead of just a generic marching band style.

Unfortunately, it sounds like they're practicing this one for some sort of fall festival/competition so they have some limitations on what they are allowed to do.

FWIW, I listen to a lot of Chicago around the house. When she told us at dinner last night that this was the new song they got to work on she said she audibly groaned in class when their band director told the class. 😅
