Hmmm the look book looks a bit weaker than what I remember from the trunk show. I keep waffling on whether I made the right choice skipping the tweed elmendorf but I think I made the right call in the end.

I still sort of regret not getting the lumber shacket though…

Latest pick up. Been after this Olive dugout for a while and managed to stumble on a size 4 on TheRealReal. Shout to out @redSquare for the proxy! It’s little bit shorter than I hoped but regular occurance for me and visvim tbf

pants Carhartt and shoes FBTs (my first vidvim item actually. Bought them back in 2008)

This is awesome. maas and stacks don't have it online, but they carry visvim. They keep it in the back room. No virgils though; they say it's pretty much a Japan exclusive at this point.
Really have to see the product in person to really get it--at least for me. Didn't know that the skagway lows were built on a goodyear welt and then covered with this rubber. So, it basically feels like a dress shoe (has the extra height too). Stuff like that is really cool.

As for sizing. I'm a CP 41 and MMM 42, and an 8D in Alden Barrie. Pretty solid. I've tried on the laramie-folk and skagway lows and I fit the US9.
Rolled the dice with a US9 for the virgils and I'm fairly certain it's the right size. At most, I could go down to a US8.5, but then I suspect they would be pretty painted on and could be uncomfortable. Unsure if they "stretch", since I just got them.

Overall, pretty damn stoked about visvim. Got my feet wet, so to speak, with the virgils and pretty much on the visvim train. Next on the list would be the solid color laramie-folk from aw14...but who knows. Mies coat looks really nice.

Xpost from recent purchases

nice shoes!

Those who attended the FW22 trunk show, which brigadier folk is the move…brown or dk brown? Hard to see that toe detail in the product shots.

i personally like the brown one a bit more. they are using the same burnished leather like they did on the t.w.o.

I was also leaning towards the brown pair then I saw the dk brown highlighted in the magazine and lookbook, then started second guessing myself lol. Still leaning towards the brown though…

Btw this not really a Visvim specific q but what’s best way to get blood off a cotton shirt? Caught a stomach bug off family and randomly fainted on train in London due to feeling nauseous and smashed my face on floor.

Can't wait for Hiroki to be inspired and release a new crash treatment based on this. I've never done this with nice clothes, but peroxide or ammonia, but might damage clothes...

haha. Thanks! Will check those out. It’s my new dugout shirt so ideally don’t want much damage to the shirt but it’s a small area so if loses bit of colour shouldn’t be too bad

I use this stuff, if you can find it round your way. I think it is "stain devil" in English. Anyway, I favour the Dr. Beckman line of products. I used it recently on a blood stain on my white Vis Tee, and it faded the stain. Not gone completely, but I think I will give it another shot when I next wash the Tee. I'm guessing the sooner you treat the stain the better chances you have of a decent result.

Hey, BTW, I also PM'd you (or tried to) on something, in case you have time to take a quick look.
