Well, what could we say. That's what Nakamura and his wife like. For them, Santa Fe is the fashion capital. It's even the first place they opened their US store. Still, we would love to spend money on his stuff

the Thorson in blue looks really nice. I wonder what jacket is pic #3 - iris? Pic #4 jacket has an fun pattern. Is it printed or sashiko? Second to last pic has an outstanding WMV(?) blanket/coat.

the fashion capital of the world is either Paris or Tokyo, but beyond that I don’t think NYC would really reflect the atmosphere Hiroki wants for the brand like Santa Fe does.

Out of curiosity, what has replaced Visvim in your closet?

The brand is using too precious materials and workmanship for my lifestyle (father of 2), I need rather sturdy clothes that I don't mind messing with while playing at the park essentially. So I kept most of my denim from the brand plus a few pairs of boots. For the visvim old vibe (military/denim/streetwear influence mix), Beams is my go to brand. Love everything they do and their XL truly fit like an American xl. Otherwise I mess with generous sizing brands such as nautica, TNPL, nanamica, ciota and graphpaper but not exactly the same atmosphere.

Old Visvim Never Dies right? I would say the spit up stains on my jackets after my children's feedings are just a unique natural milk dye.

Wasting away? Santa Fe makes sense for Visvim, and also New Mexico is beautiful and steeped with tradition that has fought colonization and cultural genocide. To dismiss it in such a way is super lame. I’m glad Hiroki and his partner sees the value of being in New Mexico.

As a non American, visvim put Santa Fe on a map. I barely heard of it before, and because they opened the shop there I had to check out the history of the city. The atmosphere seems to suit the brand's philosophy and identity perfectly as you mentioned. Definitely a place I d like to visit!

Sante Fe is a pretty amazing city. It's not NM just like Austin isn't like Texas. There's a reason Standard and Strange opened there and haven't closed. My parents owned a home about an hour North near Ojo Caliente so I fell in love with the whole region.
