I knew an Indian woman who was born in Mauritius. She was kinda weird but nice. I seem to remember that it's a rather poor country. Might be better to go to the Seychelles which I hear are really nice.

^ This time I want something different. So, I've been thinking ... why not take one of these?
RSS, where on Mauritius will you be staying, Port Louis?
Just curious, what do your friends do there? Things have changed so much. Tourism, especially from France was a big boom in the late 80's early 90's (Club Med, etc.) but then banking took off as well. I recall they were trying to establish tax free opportunities for certain businesses.
I was an owner of flower plantations and a company that produced real pressed flower cards. We sold the product world-wide. But every time there was a tropical storm the power, phone and all communications went out. We were still communicating by Telex! A phone call was $2.00 per minute when the phones worked. God, I wish there would have been email in those days......
Will send you a PM.RSS, where on Mauritius will you be staying, Port Louis?
