The price would be substantial relative to the value of the shoes. Probably in the $300-$400 range if I were to take a stab at what it would cost to have a good cobbler replace the collar with shell. More if you need the strap replaced too.Any tips for repairing the collar on these loafers? I guess replacing the whole collar would be ideal? How much would that cost?
They are in shell... using the same material would be my choice I guess.
Thanks!

Maybe just have your cobbler cut some leather and sew right over the binding? Probs much less expensiveThe price would be substantial relative to the value of the shoes. Thanks, I guess I'll send them to a cobbler and see what he can do. These are thrifted, well used shoes, so I really don't need a perfect repair, I'd just like any added leather to be the more or less the same color.Maybe just have your cobbler cut some leather and sew right over the binding? slowly working on itYou certainly did! Clean them up and post some pictures.

What is it with spray on paint? Is that what the factory does for color on the entire shoe?Found these monk strap Florsheims 30145. Tried to clean with acetone to remove what I thought was dark wax, but turned out to be spray on paint. Turpentine did the trick. Just added some AE walnut cream. Might try to add wax later for additional shine.
