"My wife imposed a watch buying freeze until Februrary 2025. So I decided to add footwear into that freeze" :rotflmao:

On a serious note, we are here if you need support man. Just reach out if you need to talk or ventilate. Because "your wife imposed a watch buying freeze" 😢

It's all good. We want to use our money to buy experiences and memories. And less things.

But damn, the experience of finding shoes and watches... good memories.

Office day and the cool weather has really kicked in. The weekend was 30+ degrees Celsius plus humidity. Today is 19 with rain.

Hanover LB Sheppards that were converted to spectators got the call. Gotta look sharp at the office meeting.

Wishing you all a pleasant week ahead.

PS. Anyone else attending the Stitchdown Boot Camp in NYC Oct 12-13?

Haven't posted in a while as the summer weather has been extended. I suspect by October the cold will roar in, so I'll be back in shoes. I also haven't bought anything in a long time. My wife imposed a watch buying freeze until Februrary 2025. So I decided to add footwear into that freeze.

And honestly, I haven't been tempted by anything. I still look and admire, of course.

Then this eBay seller made an offer. I leisurely made a counter offer of $30. And it was accepted. This pair has been sitting around for a while. Price fluctuated. Pics are from seller.

A barrister can always use another pair of black toecaps. Especially in NOS condition for $30. I'll have a cobbler install toe taps and sole savers to maximize their life.

At this point I feel that my collection is complete. I might add some more boots. But I've reached the point of "meh" unless it's a really good deal. Wishing you all a nice weekend ahead.

Vintage violation AND fashion violation. But since it was nearly 100° in my little corner of Oregon today that these Broadstreets would be OK.

And here's a mid-50s Eterna Matic that I bought cheap and rebuilt. Eterna is a great value in vintage watches, IMO.

If that picture looks a little cramped it's because we were jammed into an auditorium listening to the president of our college give the annual "welcome back to campus, faculty and staff" pep talk.

First wear (and last wear I guess) on this 1920s pair. The leather looks new but already have some wrinkle at the lacing area.

All F's today. Friday. Florsheim. Field Watch.

Wearing the Golden Harvest while this late warm surge is still going strong. Mad Dog Laces to really bring out the yellow.

These were fully rebuilt by Martin Sugg with JR soles, toe taps, and cat paw heels.

An older model field watch from the workhorse Seiko 5 series is still ticking after 30 years. The movement refuses to give up.

Happy Friday, shoe friends.
