Gents,

First post from a longtime lurker.  My smoke reverse kudu service boots were lifted from my bag on a return flight out of Bogota (claim pending with airline) and I've scoured the internet for replacement- no luck.  Per an email I received today from Viberg, they no longer offer custom shoes, even for an in-store visit. :/  Giving up hope, unless there's a chance of a second run of this GTMO from 2014 ...

My heart broke reading that. I have the smoke reverse kudus on the 1035 that Viberg sells, still I believe in some sizes, and I'd be crushed if that happened to me. Damn airport workers.

Thanks for the sentiment, much appreciated. This surprised me, actually- lost some climbing equipment from a checked bag in 2008, but had long forgotten about that. Just got complacent, I guess ...

Viberg is completely out of smoke and midnight kudu leather, with no plans to restock. The 1035 service boot is available in midnight, but IMO it looks best on the 2030 chukka- they have 10.5, but I'm 9.5/10 IIRC. So close!

Considering a custom semi-redux with 2 other makers, but waiting a few weeks. Any leads greatly appreciated.

Oh man, I am so bummed -- I just saw pics on Instagram of a guy wearing his Context 2045 HHs, and they looked so darn good. Really wishing I had a gotten those. They look even better on feet in the wild. Seriously, the 2045 kills.

I say the same thing every time.

Jeez, the 2030 to me isn't an attractive last. Too skinny. And pointy. I mean, the boots are nice and all but when I think of a boot, I think of a different last shape.

Aaaaargghhh, give me the 110 matey. Or the 1035.

Exactly! It's almost comical how often this keeps happening, over and over again! It's like finding a $100 bill on the ground and getting all excited and then realizing it's just one of those fake $100 bills. I see an awesome boot in profile, get all excited and then...ahhh, 2030 again...the let down. One of these days very soon I'm going to stop getting excited and I'm just going to lose interest and ignore it. And sadly, it will probably be the same day it really is a $100 bill that I pass on by.

Come on Viberg...even if you only do one 110 for every five 2030's...I will feel like a rich man!

They were a great build. My first 2045, and they are super comfortable with the thick horse butt leather.

There's been talk about sizing for this a while back in this thread. Just search for Hikers or 240. I have a pair in size 10 which fits fine. My second pair of vibergs also in size 10 will be on the 2030 last but those are due probably end of next week or the week after so I can't compare right now. For reference I'm a 10.5E (wide) in Allen Edmonds number 5 last (Park Avenue, Strand, Cambridge).

How did the 2030 fit compare to your hikers?
