Are you sure it wasn’t French binding? I thought that Viberg sources their leather soles from Spain? So I’ve been avoiding owning a pair of the classic brown/chestnut RM Williams for a while now, because everyone in Australia owns a pair and I feel like if I’m going to collect boots as a hobby I’d prefer to have ones that are that extra bit special, but at the same time a darker brown pair of Chelsea boots would be nice as they go with everything.
Well just found a pair of Viberg Chelsea’s for $900 AUD off this Boxing Day, and jumped on them. The only issue is they have a leather sole and there’s no returns if they don’t fit. So fingers crossed.
How do Viberg leather soles go? The only info is it’s a French leather sole.
Oh, nice! I didn’t realize that? Thanks for the info. I have quite a few pairs from Weston too! Thanks!I seem to recall they source their leather soles from Bastin & Fils tannery, which is owned by J.M. Weston. I have a pair of leather soled Westons (and owned a pair of leather soled Vibergs) and they are very hard wearing.
