I saw these boots on Grailed for like $720 and thought it was way too expensive for a used pair. I looked up the seller and it was a shop called Redwing J3 located in Jakarta Indonesia. I just happened to have a vacation planned with a few days there, so I messaged the shop on Instagram and he told me the price was 7 million rupiah (~$455 USD) if I came to the shop.

Fast forward to yesterday, and I went to their small shop. Tons of work wear style clothing, denim, boots, etc. Tried on the Vibergs, and these were a little roomier than my old 2030 waxed flesh boots. New roomier last and thinner calf leather. But I knew thicker socks or an insole would solve it so I ended up buying them. It took a little while to figure out how to pay, because they only did cash or Indonesian bank transfer. Luckily I had $400 USD on me and I covered the rest in rupiah and all was well.

Absolutely love the color on these and how versatile they are. Works great for casual denim all the way to business casual.

Well Viberg doesnt do a crust shell, but the ID makers can and do. I have crust shell from Renav that I like. Cloe is the tannery that usually does the crust shells.

99% sure Viberg initially told them they could but then backtracked on it

TBH I haven’t worn them enough to affect the coating nor have I done anything to remove it. They’ve just gotten an occasional brushing.
