Bunch of shell restocked right now if anyone is going. Better hurry. Mostly in 8.5/9

Anyone have much experience with the sample sale? I bought Amaretto shell through a proxy and I'm debating mules. For something like mules, would it make more sense to wait a day or two or does it get pretty thin?

This was added to the mega proxy group a while ago. Shrunken Ram. I'm in to it, but not my size.

So, I'm unfamiliar with the usual proxy system.

Is this something local guys do for non-locals and in return they normally get a fee or a percentage for the trouble of buying and shipping (seems like that would be fair)?

Or do people normally do this just as a favour to other enthusiasts at cost only (which would be very charitable)?

This is my first sample sale experience, but the group that I'm a part of has a $100 fee per pair. There are somewhere around 200 people in the WhatsApp group so I'm assuming that's kind of a standard proxy fee.
Regarding "favour" - hello fellow Canadian!

Lol - dead giveaway from the spelling (that, and maybe my footer indicating I have pairs of Dacks, McHales, and Hartts).

Thanks for the info - that makes sense re the $100 fee, which I imagine is separate from also having to pay shipping costs to your proxy? So $575US + shipping cost for most non-shell boots if you buy via proxy is still a very nice deal.

(But I'm still really pleased I was able to snag a pair I liked from the 3sixteen sale this week for $340US + shipping...tough to top that 50% off bargain!)

For the $100 group that included shipping. I saw another proxy group that was $50+shipping . I saw shell going for $140 (proxy fee) though

Ha! I didn't notice the footer, but ya, giveaway as well.

Ya, I mean, I think it's a reasonable deal. US shipping is included in the fee but international shipping is just whatever extra from they would pay from the US shipping (at least I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere in there). The average price of a service boot on .com is ~$1,000 CAD + tax + shipping - so about $1,155 (in BC anyways). Sample sale pricing for non shell is $475 + $100 USD fee, but no tax and whatever for shipping... so around $730 CAD.

Congrats on the 3sixteen score - those were a great deal!

my one score from the sale. first time seeing any shell at the sample sale. they are 1/2 size larger than I normally wear, but yet they still feel snug. I like that they put out stuff throughout the day. in and out under 15 minutes.

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
