Somewhere, Derek weeps. How could the fora possibly disagree with his Aspy academic analysis of a black bespoke garment. "It's them" he chokes. "It's them, not me."

Don't actually care what you get. Just saw originally that you were looking for a black worsted sport coat and threw my two cents in. From what I've seen you wear, I think it's a bad idea, but ::shrug:: obviously your money and you can do what you like. I just look forward to the miserable "it's too hot" tweets.

come on people. he's not going to wear the jacket without a shirt underneath (are you?)

just be smart about your shirt and you'll be fine. something that wicks. like pique. keep the jacket as breathable as possible. it's a system.

fwiw i like the idea of a black fresco, probably the most *sensible* of the options since it's just an overspun plain weave which is a bit like turning wool into linen (without the fading issues). and seems easy to come by.

the other thing is don't forget silk. you can get silk-wool blends and also silk-wool-linen blends that are tropical weight, durable, and will hold dye well (my experience is that the protein fibers are far more dye-fast than cellulosic fibers but blends often combine the best of all worlds. people think a pure fiber is better but, really, it just isn't so). zegna offers something along these lines and i assume that there are similar products around: https://www.zegna.us/us-en/editorial/iconic-products/summer-suit.html

I have a Zegna wool/linen/silk sport coat and it's my favorite fabric. I agree that blends often have the best of both/all three worlds. I'd probably convert all my single-fiber fresco, linen, and cotton sport coats to it if I could.

Black jackets are bogstandard in the fashion and arts worlds, and I see no reason not to have one made bespoke, but I hate the idea of wearing one with Levi's 501s. Can you really not save us from misery and wear it with some crisp, slim trousers? (Very light grey might look nice for a monochrome look; or cream for an upside-down tuxedo.)

Don't mention Zegna here, that mill is not SF approved

I agree, but my black jeans are skinny in the legs and my jackets fit better than that. Also, the styling and silhouette would be totally different. Maybe I should get some Dior Homme 19cm like I had back in college with 40" inseams stacked on my shoes.

SPOILER ALERT!!! COLLEGE FOOT PICS!!!

I guess, I am actually looking at some Big John jeans on the No Man website to replace these. These are my Cambodia jeans that are all beat up and faded. I need some chic new dad jeans for my new summer uniform.

I just bought 2 pairs of Rag & Bone jeans in their Fit 2 cut.

I'm kinda over breaking in raw denim. I don't wear jeans enough to ever wear them in properly.

Plus, I need denim w/ some stretch in them.
