My USA tailor uses surgical strength needles so I hope he’ll be fine with my commission.
Tailors have different tolerances for strong fabrics. I tried to get NsM to make some Nantucket red trousers from the old fashioned canvas sold by Murray’s. They gave up, so I took it to a London shop.

What happened to Mina / nsm? Are they still around?

Dear all,
Does anyone know the status of the Summer Tweed? I am keen to lay my hands on a length, but am struggling to hear back on the status, does anyone happen to know?

Thank you vm.

I’ve used three tailors.

I, too, bought some Murray’s Nantucket Red heavy cotton for a jacket. I gave it to Tofani and didn’t hear a peep of a complaint.

Qemal is putting the finishing touches on my 1kg cashmere doppio usu and has had zero trouble with the fabric.

Despos will get my second length of 1k cashmere for a polo and I see no fear in his eyes.

i look for toughness in my tailors. 😬

I subscribed to this second run and got the suiting years ago. Tofani turned it into one of my favorite summer suits.

I think NsM contracts out to old ladies with delicate needles. Not sure how Ambrosi handles such things-- may put him on the next round.

will probably have these bad boys made up quite soon - very difficult to properly take pictures of the colours though
480g tweed, one dark green/blueish - other one is dark brown/black

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
