Anyone has first hand experience with the olive shades from the Fox Air bunch? I'm contemplating either the plain (FA17) or the four point star (FA22) for a casual, half lined summer suit to be worn mostly without a tie. I haven't yet seen either in real life, so any experience would be much appreciated, thanks!
just order the swatches…they might take a few weeks to arrive though. i think fox sends them through the mail.

I was looking at 9360 at HFW actually! I have already ordered some swatches from HFW.

Also thinking about 163143. But cotton stretch, that means some mix right? Hfw does not say what the wale number is
Probably yes, then again as you can see in my picture the photos on their website do not tell you much regarding colour. So would order swatches to see them yourself.
Example: this is the cloth my trouser is made of: https://www.hfwltd.com/single_piece/9365

Well that photo tells you absolutely nothing...

ha, very true, that picture is not very informative.. Swatches on their way! thanks.. But the fabric looks awesome on you though!

Huntsman proposed about Scabal, their Cotton and cashmere cords, but they are not heavier than 360, which definitely is lighter than the old ones. But getting some swatches. Swatches form all over the place!

I may be misremembering, but I think David Lane has something in the olive 4 point star?

I do indeed and love it. I wear it more broken up than as a suit, but works great for both:

Looking stunning, thanks a lot. Do you find it flexible in terms of which colours can be worn with it? I was thinking the black might pull it in a more monotone direction than the plain weave version, but maybe I'm totally wrong.

I'm asking because I have a RAF blue suit (LL Brisetta) that I love, but it can only be worn with a white or navy blue striped shirt, if I want to avoid looking like someone who has been beamed straight out of the seventies.

how does this resolve in daylight? Distinctly olive leaning? Or more drabby/grey-ish?

I want to say I recall you posting this (Derby Day outfit?) as a suit once upon a way back...which ironically was what prompted me to get my Vanda panama hat...nerdiness has come full circle here.

I have worn this with nearly everything from chambray to white linen (shown) to pink oxford cloth to blue and white stripe to a black western snap shirt.

Great memory, yes that was the day. Great hat too. I think it wears more olive in natural light and more muted indoors.

I have a picture somewhere wearing it in the sun but can't find it sadly.

Why only those two? You could do all kinds of stripes with the RAF, including wine, yellow, orange, green… It is not a quiet suit, but a discreet cut on the shirt a and sober tie, perhaps also a white collar, will bail you out of any leisure suit references.

Some new lines in: Minnis has a very fine 11oz suiting run, under the Enterpries label. Ignore the multi-checks-- basic solids and herringbones appear to have good potential for 3-season wear.

And I just dropped off some of the 2016 blue/grey Rangoon for a jacket and trousers.
