Yeah. Unless I move, there's just no way I'd ever get the chance to wear it.
It's unfortunate, my favorite jacketing fabrics are overwhelmingly in fall/winter weights. Though I think this is the case for most people.

That's one reason why I'm such a Caccioppoli fan, their spring/summer jacketing book often has the interesting patterns I usually only see in heavier fabrics.

Right there with you.

You know what makes it worse? When the cool weather seasons come around in these hot weather climates most people/places crank up the heater. So I STILL can't comfortably wear it. But I do anyways.

I really like this collaboration between Permanent Style and Fox Brothers. A really nice black and brown houndstooth. Pretty heavy at 17 ounces though.

PS x Fox Bros

I don't necessarily rush to subsidize his projects, but this particular collection is quite solid.

Fox Air, if you have any breeze whatever. For more civilized air conditioning, Glorious Twelfth.
Look what you made me do, though it won't be unfunded by the end of the week.

I'm going to have it made up into a 3 piece. I won't be able to wear the full thing year round, but it should provide some versatility.

Wearing the vest with Lemmy from Motorhead's shorts you bought from his estate sale is certainly a look

Lovely cloth. On the Fox website, FA2-20 is taupe, not grey which is weird.
One thing I love about taupe is that it's shade is so lighting dependent. When you get a good look at it, there's not a bit of grey in the fabric.

I love this cloth.
But is it really that special? I have a lambswool one in the exact same pattern and colour.
Of course it wears differently, it's not a tweed.

Lovat in their Talla bunch has almost the same thing and I would say even more interesting because there is more flecking in the houndstooth pattern, albeit not being totally black. Also the pattern is a bit larger so it's easier to wear casual.
All in all I always thought it nothing special, especially since I find these houndstooth pattern a lot in Italian rtw (brioni had one in the collection one f/w collection back).

I agree, the Fox fabric isn't unique. Harrisons has a light brown houndstooth that's 100% cashmere. I've seen it made up at Steven Hitchcock's last trunk show. It felt great. 13 oz. too.

He also had a nice houndstooth on his Instagram from Piacenza. Not sure of the weight.

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
