To buy Incotex or not?

I went to Saks Fifth this evening, and they are having their 2nd cut sale.

I found two pairs of very lovely Incotex pants in a fabric I have nothing similar to, but I was told that their final/3rd cut is in a week. The pants were in my size, flat front, and Super 100s for $146.

I decided to sleep on it. The salesperson told me that they might get put back to full retail or moved to another store and that there was no guarantee there would be a further reduction. Neiman also had a few very nice pairs, but their pre-sale BS is annoying. If they are already marked down on the tag, why can they not sell them to me now?

I don't mind paying $146, but I just paid $89/ea. for 3 pairs of gorgeous Zegna flat-fronts at NMLC. I've bought quite a bit of Zanella at $99-$120, but Incotex looks and feels like a whole different level to me.

Any input appreciated.

No idea. The sales guy told me yesterday that everything is getting cut on Thursday. He said "up to 90% off" so I imagine that's final cut ?

I also have some questions about Incotex... I know that the brand is known for its 'tapered' khakis and pants, but what is the true measurements of the length of the hems? Or does it differ greatly from model to model?

I'm also wondering if it's really worth >100... anybody have any pictures wearing it and utilizing it any outfits? I'm curious.

(if anyone can pick up a pair for me, that would be awesome... of course ill be paying shipping and maybe a small fee for the help)

Incotex are very well made pants in my experience. They hold up well and drape very nicely. Any price under $200 is pretty good.

Be careful with some of their more casual cotton pants however as the seat can be tight unless you are very skinny. Not a problem with the dress slacks.

I just bought a pair of Incotex at the Neimans in D.C. for about $140. The salesman let me pay the final cut price then, if I used an Amex or Neimans card. I have no idea if this is the standard practice. But I'm betting they won't give you a hard time, if you ask.

How are the hips on Incotex pants? It seems like every pair of RTW pants I've ever seen have a huge amount of extra fabric starting right below the waistband.

I don't notice this on my Incotex trousers (all flat fronts). If anything, the hips are slim.

Main Line, I believe. What's the difference? The tag says Luciano Barbera, Made in Italy, with the logo between. Good deal? They had another pair, same make, with four small holes at the middle of the left leg. The price was marked down to $20. Worth buying to send to Alice Zotta?

Not to hijack, but what would make you buy Incotex over having odd trousers tailored?
