I made the same bedroom decision, albeit my clothes have to share the closet with a piano.

My guess is appreciating the art of them. I can completely understand having a collection of objects of beauty, wearability aside. Many people spend much more on art that hangs on the wall. Andrew can take his art with him to appreciate all day. I have some incredible bike frames hanging on a wall that have never been built or ridden, but they make me happy to look at and appreciate for their amazing craftsmanship and handwork.

And what fun would it be to buy shoes only when your old ones wear out?

What a great collection of shoes. I can understand and appreciate buying objects of beauty to enjoy. Thanks for sharing your collection with the forum.
