There's no way brokencycles could have meant that he would never suggest such a thing. I think he meant that the Dutch postman or letter carrier might have talked me into thinking I was Dutch when I was of impressionable age.

And how would that explain the DNA discrepancy exactly?

I refused to have the test done because I know in my heart that I'm Dutch.

I didn't mean to imply anything. I was sleepy and didn't know what I was posting. I'm surprised coherent words found their way into the box.

My sister had a dna test done. My last name is of french descent (not really proud of that) but no french in the dna. Haha. They (my last name ansectors) came to North America in the 1600s and it has been diluted out. Woo hoo

What I did not know is that I am like 20% Irish. My grandmother was adopted and we didnt know what her heritage was. I guess we do now.

Pretty sure that means that somewhere between 1600 and now, a mailman of non-french descent got busy with your great-...-grandma.

I didn't need to take a DNA test to know I was Scottish as three of my four grandparents were FOB from there, and my one grandmother that wasn't, her parents were FOB Scotland and Germany. I did do the cheek swab for the Somersled marker, and given where half of my family is from in modern day Scotland and our phenotype, it was not a huge surprise I had it.

Of course, these were the smart(er) french that left France as they almost certainly knew they had to get outta there.

Dont be so down on the Kingdom of the Franks bra. The Sun King ruled a bad ass empire, and everyone **** their pants at the sight of Napoleon on the border for quite a while.
