But I was just having such a tough time man, and this little furry angel totally brought me back up to life and salved my wounds and now I live for my snookums!

(That one is also good because it gets the little humblebrag in there for rescuing a dog)

there's this old guy in our mail room whose job is to fetch our packages from the storage shelves. He's surprisingly high energy for an old guy, which is fine, but he takes that energy and uses it to toss the package you just requested in the air and shout "YEEE-HAWWWW!!" while you stand there.

WTF man?? Fragile objects are shipped all the time, and the shipping companies are bad enough, and my packages don't need Mr. Yee-Haww tossing them around any more.

I took delivery of some socks today, and he did his thing, and it still annoys me even though the socks are not in any danger of being damanged.

For someone who dislikes L'inc this post could have been written by him.

Key différance: your visual proof is always already a part of our online discourse, in which it is impossible to verify something in an empirical way (as if all of existence were not, at some level, like this). The need for text (écriture, scription) even within your (digitally reproduced, disseminated) image reveals how you are attempting to catch up to a truth that always eludes. In this case, that truth being the "yee haw" of the man who can never be heard. And it's that extra, supplemental "w"--that excess signifier that does nothing phonetically--that marks and gives away this game of epistemological tag.

Oh God, what I wouldn't give to have been an academic in the 80s

If gift certificates are less fungible than cash, why don't they sell for a discount? Why do I have to pay $200 to get a $200 gift certificate?
