GF Ive found when youre about to pull a BR nod like a goddamned heroin addict ya gotta stand up on any pretext whatsoever. Quick coffee, soda, water w/e. Hell, go mess with the drapes. Only standing works IMO. Usually ya try to push through mentally then discover youve failed with your chin on your chest.

I find that saying something (and actually becoming engaged in the meeting) helps to stave off the droopy eyes - at least for a few 10 minutes or so. Torture is when you are the most junior person among very senior people and you have no reasonable excuse to even cough at the meeting.

My asshole neighbor just tripped down the stairs carrying his groceries, and the guy gets mad when I completely ignore him and continue my walk down the stairs. Coffee beans and blueberries everywhere, which I couldn't avoid stepping on. Maybe when he decides to listen to my complaint, amongst other tenants who tell him to stop blasting music at midnight, would I have the courtesy to help him out.

I think it's funny how it's completely socially acceptable to pound coffee or energy drinks, but people look at you like you're some kind of junkie if you take caffeine pills.
