@StanleyVanBuren I think Teger means well, but I will agree and disagree on both of your points.

Opt for the classic fit if the maker offers one e.g. classic vs slim

Forget cuffs. IME it either doesn't work for everyone or not everyone can find a skilled enough tailor to get that perfect pant length to pant cuff ratio. Instead, opt for what Teger suggested a military hem (slanted hem). It will look far better for achieving that clean front break especially for fuller cut pants (8" or above), and you don't have to worry about the inseam being too short and your back hem getting caught in the heel of your shoe.

I cannot even fathom how much money I threw away trying to get the perfect cuff width, an inseam with no break, my pants not getting caught above my shoe etc.

What I found worked is just what I said above, military hem and perhaps ask for no break.

Do not go slimmer. I think what Teger meant was try a different pattern that is designed for an overall closer fit but has ample room in the seat and knee area where it drapes well against the body. Perhaps a mid/high front rise.

Going to post this again, military hem Hey, @jrd617

Try out Dapper Classics classic fit pant.

super slim stanley is the best stanley.

that said, i don't think you can even make those pants slimmer without digging into flesh? fix those draping quibbles and remove the cuffs and you'll be set

Worrying about trouser hems is only for the internet.

No break, full break, stacking, cuffs etc...it's personal. Yes, some objectively look cleaner or better for certain body types in pictures, but there's the rest of the things you don't pick up on in photos that matter far more.

Not saying don't make considerations or anything. Just that if he already likes something I don't think there's much point in telling him to do things differently when we only see internet pics.

IDK, I don't think the cuffs are that great. Not sure if this is anathema in the MC world, but maybe smaller cuffs would look better. Agreed that no cuff / military hem might be the best option.

Looks great overall, hem-related quibbling aside.
