Gotcha. I think the pattern of the shirt and/or the style of the jacket are throwing me off. With a chambray shirt, I think it would have worked pretty well. In this picture—and I suspect it's just the picture—the jacket is giving off corporate fleece vibes.

I think your idea of a chambray shirt is spot on. The shirt in that fit was green, but it had navy lines in the checks, and I was trying to align the green with the jacket and the navy with the denim. It might have been a step too far.

The cloth for the jacket is actually a lovely 800 gsm, herringbone wool and the jacket is by L.E.J. It might be hard to make out in a picture. The reason I liked the jacket is that it was cropped and boxy and I liked the look of it with the flared jeans.

BTW, I always appreciate your criticism.

Hot take. Some logos are cool. Carhartt is one of them.
I agree. I’m very anti-logos but I make some exceptions:

- traditional workwear and denim brands like Carhartt, Dickies, Levi’s, Lee or Wrangler
- traditional sportswear brands like Nike, Adidas or Reebok

They’re so iconic, ingrained in pop culture and relatively inexpensive that I’m ok wearing their logos.

What loafers? Love the fit.

NMWA x Trickers in olive green. The chunky sole is perfect for snow days tbh

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
