First post, just starting to get into fashion so nothing too experimental. Does this work?

tshirt and blazer - Esprit
pants - Zara
shoes - New Balance
sunglasses - Vans

It's not an "essential," it's basically the Raf Simons look, along with slim sharp trousers and futurist / minimal stuff

Yup, basically this. They're a super easy shoe to pair with the minimal/austere monochrome look that so many of us hover around. And they look good with both denim and trousers.

i have been curious for a while, do you guys over here consider black derbies to be an SWD essential?

"essentials" is an oft mocked concept in the SW camp.

but like KJ said, black derbies are a nice complement to minimalist tailored looks. not as business-y as oxfords.

edit: bamchair beat me to it.

thanks, guys, that makes sense. as i like the blk/wht minimalist look a lot in SWD fits, thats probably why they stood out to me. might be my next shoe purchase. i need some slim sharp trousers too.

TTO - so good. Reminds me a little of Hannibal, but eviscerates that clown's style.

If you don't mind sharing, where did you find that shirt fabric?

Thanks, I've only seen a couple of shows, I wish the man would learn to tie a real tie knot, he can eat people all he wants, but those should hang from any tie tied with a full windsor!
I was chatting with the manager of RRL in mount street today and he was after the shirt fabric as well, it's a MtM from Hemrajani Brothers, I think it's out of stock at the moment....

no, dude, you need to do what TTO is doing.

lol, i cant rock TTOs steez, only he can.

one simple example, his height allows him to wear collars like that. on me, they would reach my navel. and just in general, his style is very much personal.
