just want to give a shout out to @Auximenes for recommending me these moleskins here:

http://grownandsewn.com/shop/sale/kax-independent-slim-lovat-moleskin

like a moron i slept on them and this morning when i was ready to kop, my size was sold out. but i found some other cool stuff there.

anyone else have experience with these peeps?

Cordings trousers seem to be well spoken of on the CM side. I have noticed that Butler wears them, and their corduroys. Perhaps they are not SW&D enough, I don't know.

@in stitches don't do that. I'm sure that stuff is quality, but that's what every business casual guy would do. You've spent so much time in this thread, why waste the knowledge that you've aquired? You don't have to go all Devoa twisted seam on us, but you already know that. Look around a little and take just one step outside of your comfort zone. Just my two cents!

edit- eh I dunno. Maybe some of that stuff would work well for you. I would just like to see you transcend standard CM casual looks with some [insert Japanese brand name here] flight pants or something.

Good feedback, guys. Thanks. I got a simple pair of chinos. These:

http://grownandsewn.com/shop/sale/kax-legend-straight-camel-stateside-canvas

I like em, they seem to be good quality, and I could use another pair of good chinos, only have 1 or 2 now that are real solid.

But yeah, I could push myself a little further. Having a hard time finding happy medium pants. Not too edgy apocalyptic, but not same same old same old biz cas. And also at least reasonably affordable.

I have a harder time finding good pants than anything else, both for MC and for SWD.

Ever consider Epaulet for pants/chinos? You might even want to consider some Billy Reid, seems like these lines might be up your ally. I can see you rocking these lines for that Casual MC cross-over

Billy Reid had some sweet moleskin jeans this season. Handled them in person and the fabric feels great. Only thing that worries me is the "slight boot opening".

stitches, when you say "not same old biz cas," what part of biz cas are you trying to distance yourself from? Like, are you looking for a different sort of fit, details, etc?

Those moleskins were precisely what I had in mind. I thought they looked great (don't have first hamd experience), but also stayed away from "slight boot opening" since I'm a skinny ass who prefers slim tapered or most slim straight.

Dammit I'm in Europe too. Does it fit TTS, same as the cardigan, in case I find one?

I don't have first hand experience with that particular sweater, but past experiencees with Schneider goods when using similar fabrics for different styles is that the fit would tend to be the same meaning same size in cardigan and crew neck, but thats just a guess like I said.

thanks, guys.

i like epaulet a lot but their stuff is so slim i cant fit it. even the MTO rudy fit that i got is barely doable.

those BRs are sweet, and i dont mind a bit of a boot cut, especially if ill be wearing with boots, but fml sold out of course.

as to what im trying to move away from (not entirely move away from, but that when i go for an SWD look, im not really just doing a really casual MC) is pants like these:

dont get me wrong, i like that fit a lot. but those are simple, creased, trouser cut, every-mans khaki pants, nice as they may be.

basically i guess im looking for something that has a more interesting fabric than just regular cotton chinos/khakis. and stuff that is more jean cut and 5 pocket, less trousers cut and trouser pocket.

moleskin is great, like the ones you linked, and these:

http://www.billyreid.com/product/moleskin-jean-chocolate-1.html

its also why i grabbed these below from g&s. its canvas not just regular old brushed cotton, and its a 5 pocket.

http://grownandsewn.com/shop/sale/kax-foundation-straight-aged-camel-stateside-canvas

sure, even that stuff is not a far cry from biz cas, but its closer to SWD, and more in the direction i want for my non dress clothing. id be willing to explore further too, but im not sure what else there is between pants like these, and the kind of things that are just too far for me at present. im certainly open to ideas.

I'm trying to think of approachable brands that make trousers with unique fabrics. I guess there's stuff like Ute and Schneider. Lemaire's trousers are almost always done in cool materials, and his cuts might work for you if you found epaulet too fitted. for example, i dig these beige moleskin ones. they're prob not as cropped/tight as the pic makes them seem

Cool beans. I hope to check out some SS when NMWA gets them in.

Ill check out those other brands too. Those in the link are neat, but Im wary of the rise.

Much appreciated.

Gotcha, like too constraining up top? I have a feeling it's because the corner misinterprets Lemaire's weird sizing system-- like, they think a pair of "size 3" lemaire pants corresponds to an IT50 when it's actually an IT48, so the poor models end up sizing down by mistake. if you decide to buy any of his stuff from the corner, you'll have to choose one IT size higher than what you're used to

Like, if I wear the rise proper it will be at my belly button, and if I wear the pants lower, as I prefer, they will look like a drop crotch.

Good sizing info. The SWD sizing is yet another beast in the menswear sizing world.
