While we're kind of on the subject, do any of you know of an approach / scrambling shoe that doesn't look like ass? In my dreams, it would have a grippy, low profile sole, a nice stealth rubber rand, and be either a slip-on or have a velcro strap closure.

True, not really sure if I even like them yet.

FWIW, I like them, including in this context. I think they add some congruous incongruity to the fit, like grampa was a little bit of a mod back in the day.

Thanks for the input! Yeah I am just trying to figure out what that tweakin is, you have any idea? Elseway Ill probably just go throught trial and error

Ill check them out tomorrow! Hopefully they will! Probably will have to put on something else that is white to not let the sneaker-details be "alone".

Really just working with the proportions and materials. I think different footwear would help - slipons are ok sometimes but I think you need something that will make you look more "grounded" and less flighty. I don't really know how else to put it but they're too dainty and monk-like for what you want to go for.

a quick google pulled up this album but it doesn't seem to have been put together by him, and it's not current, but there is enough there to give you the idea of what I have in mind. not saying copy him 1:1 but he will be a good source of inspiration for sure.
