I really don't see a "lesson" here unless the OP forgot to screw down the crown in or he was 300ft+ under water??

Older watch? Not serviced?

30ft at the most. But yes, older watch had not been serviced in while.

Also, a far distance below the 1k target (and probably anathema to most, no matter how open to foreign ideas this thread is) but I am strangely drawn to the Swatch Sistem 51. Probably not the "one" watch, but..

Dat is pretty. The black dial appeals more to me but I can see the attraction of the white. Maybe in another decade...
Observation, my wrists aren't too enormous but only one link had to be removed for me. What do people with meaty samples do? Buy a PAM? Extra links?

Thanks for your input, gentlemen. Actually I ask because I already decided on something a little while ago, and I'm curious as to whether TWAT would produce any "group think" if given the same cost as an approximate budget. A couple of themes there, definitely, but I hope a couple more ideas will come out.

Are you in effect testing the crowd if anyone will come up with what you already decided on? Interesting. I'm totally out-of-date but lemme see. :)

I was also thinking of what Culverwood said, about TWAT-darlings, and wondering how that would play at a more accessible price point. Sinn 556, and various Stowas, seem to be there so far, and I can't argue against them. Seiko is the mechanical value choice at an even lower price too. But of course, a grand is too cheap for others to have thought about!

Anyway, more the merrier. In the mean time, great Daytona pics. This thread is nothing without the pr0n.

So what did you choose?
