Question for watch collectors with 2+ watches. How do rotate your watches? Specially with time/ date setting and such. I can't seem have more than 2 in my rotation.

In order to avoid falling through the manhole of endless expenditure I sat down and thought about this and decided on three or four target watches of differing formalities: High days and holy days / suit and tie / casual / travel, along with a few cheaper quartzes I've got for scuba diving, beach etc. I got a watch winder from timelybuys which has four rotating bays and six other slots which keeps things ticking over when I'm not wearing them.

^ Same here. I prefer not to keep a mechanical timepiece running, to minimise wear on the movement. It takes less than a minute to wind and set a stopped watch.

However the spirit moves, I just select the watch that feels right to accompany that particular day. And somehow it's always the right choice. (LOL)

And there are a lot of evenings when I change watches after coming home from the office. Kind of like taking off your coat and tie and getting into something more comfortable.

If at some point I feel like one of my "babies" is being neglected then I might give it several days in a row to re-bond and then eventually get back to rotating. Very rarely have I completely fallen out of "watch love" and had to make a sale or trade.

To me there's nothing more sad than a great watch just sitting in the bottom of a drawer or in a safe.
