Hey speaking of grey dealers that can be trusted: Does anyone have experience with "Tropical Watch", or "Bob's"?

My brother just bought an Airking from tropical, so I asked him for you. He said he emailed about availability and some other details about the watch and they were helpful and responsive, and even offered a price $200-300 less than advertised without him even having to ask or negotiating. When my brother replied wanting to buy, the reply had his bank wire and Paypal F/F info.

Never bought from Bob's but when I was shopping my two-tone Explorer around last summer, they gave me what was by far the best offer.

Does anyone here regularly wear an Apple Watch or other smartwatch? How do you think about rotating and dividing time with your mechanical watches?

I take a play out of the Mr. Rogers play book and swap out of my mechanical watch for my apple watch when I get home in the evening and change into my casual clothes. I wear it through the evening and night and for my run early the next morning and then swap back out for my mechanical watch when getting dressed for work the next morning

I really like the new white Speedmaster. I think it is one of the better watches available for, say, under $10,000. I think I may prefer it to the black version, but that may just be recency bias.

Agreed. Some negotiation but still an inflated price - in general I would say 10% higher than other greys.
I guess they figure an iron clad rep is worth 10%, they might be right. So much shenanigans in the watch industry these days.

Bought a vintage Sub (5513) from Tropical Watch. My transaction was smooth...quick email response, the item shipped promptly, etc.

I’ve also recently experienced a liquidity event and want to add a watch. However, I find myself torn in MANY different directions (in no order of preference):

1. Vintage DD?
2. Vintage 16710 (coke)?
3. Tank Louis?
4. Grand Seiko GMT 221?
5. Rolex GMT RB (full RG)?
6. ALS L1?

I do what twat tells me to do. Please advise…
