I still think the silver dial 116509 is the sleeper Daytona of the "modern" references.

Biased of course, but I haven't taken mine off in months.

It is one of my favorites but I still think this is best Daytona:

Man… this is hard to beat. I asked for this, too, but my AD told me that it’s going to be a while before these start trickling in.

Having said that, the fact that, like, 75% or the watch is virtually scratch-proof (ceramic bezel, rubber strap, sapphire crystal) gets me more excited to wear my oysterflex Daytona.

Well I have both and the 116519 gets zero wrist time now.

I just find the oyster bracelet to be exponentially more comfortable than the rubber oyster flex.

I've also resigned myself to the fact the 116509 is a daily "beater" so I don't care about scratches in the slightest.

Both stunning watches though.

Maybe that's why it can be found under the retail price. But I really like it. A very practical "sports" Calatrava.

Pretty ugly actually. I don’t associate Patek with giant plunger buttons making a goofy Pilot watch. Yuck.
