That IWC is uninspiring. I'd rather have Oris Bronze with green face for under 2K.

Not incorrect. Mixing French and German was genius - none of the French speak proper German, none of the Germans speak proper French, and none of the Swiss speak proper French or German ;)

Although Jaeger may be a German word in origin, Edmund Jaeger was from Paris, and his oppo Jaques-David LeCoultre was descended from Pierre, who was a French Huguenot fleeing persecution and himself established the settlement of Le Sentier in Switzerland. So technically it's French-sounding all the way through.

"Yay-ger" is easier for most to say though. Or JLC. Some customers (I work primarily with JLC) just keep saying "this brand" or "this maker" because they don't want to get it wrong. I can sympathise.

I am headed to a local Rolex AD this afternoon that is holding a GMT for me. After speaking with multiple ADs and 2nd hand dealers in the region, it has become apparent that picking up a BLNR is virtually impossible without paying a $4,000-$5,000 premium which I cannot justify. Any suggestions before I take the leap?

P.S. @am55, don't forget the Italian speakers, and the few who speak the only uniquely Swiss language that is Romansch. I think that's then all the Swiss covered. In my experience it's actually the German speakers who call their mangled language "Swiss". As one once said to me "French isn't a language, it's a throat condition"
