Here is an old photo of a favorite watch. A692FBE6-A774-4DE3-B3AD-C5B9F6F15033.jpeg After all these years it now has its own nickname among Italian collectors: “The Priest” for its stark white on black. Pre-Daytona early 1960’s Rolex Cosmograph.

D'oh! Went to the Omega boutique today and found out that the Speedy Anniversary sold out this morning. Plenty of Seamaster and Railmaster Anniversaries left. The former is a killer watch.

:wow:
Where did you see the watch? Did Hodinkee hold an event or something?

Nope, saw one of the new owners out at a non-hodinkee related watch event the night of the release. They work quickly!

The T&Co x Patek webpage shows only very few stores that carry the pieces: NY 5th Ave, Atlanta, Beverly Hills, Honolulu, Houston, and SF

I'm about a week late on this, but can confirm that the Houston Galleria's Tiffany & Co. does carry co-branded Patek. And I've always found the sales guys in there to be friendly and accommodating, especially compared to the (now-closed) Tourneau in the same shopping mall. One of the guys in there is quite a Porsche fan as well and took me on a good 10-minute discussion of 911s that was way beyond my depth, but enjoyable nonetheless.

All of which gives me an excuse to post this tire-kicking wrist shot from awhile back. I viewed this dial through a loupe and the execution was flawless (any layout / design issues aside). Not a watch that I'm necessarily wanting to buy, but it was fun to try on for a moment:

Any recommendations for watch shops in Westchester County? I'm looking to try several brands. Otherwise I'll head into NYC.

Bumped my budget to $10k. Based on my choices from a few weeks ago, I added Explorer I and datejust 41/datejust II to my list (blue, fluted, stick)

Also considering a used reverso/tank for dress and then something else for sport (PO, iwc petite price)

If you're okay with pre-loved, then you might be able to get a gently used SS Reverso and a 36mm Explorer for around $10K. Would take some patience of course, and you may not get boxes, papers, etc. but I do think it's possible.

Both of those are technically sports watches I suppose, but they also crossover nicely IMO. And of course DJs can make that transition nicely as well, depending on your choice.

Sorry I have no recs for Westchester County... good luck in your search, and keep us posted.

@Jmm722 I guess it depends on what you're in the market for. Torneau in the Westchester Mall is pretty big and should have several Explorers and Datejusts for you to try. Tarrytown Jewelers (confusingly in Hartsdale) has several pre-owned watches of note. If you want to cross to border into Connecticut, Betteridge is a nice store to look at.

I still remember that Tourneau used to be Houston's only AD that carried Patek back in the day. Thankfully Patek pulled Tourneau's AD status in Houston since that watch shop was horrible.

Manfredi in Greenwich comes to mind, if you don't mind driving into CT.

I have never been, but have heard many good things about them.

What's your opinion on the patek 5167? I was thinking of getting it as a daily. I would wear it swimming, to the gym, to go play tennis. Everywhere. Do you view it as the poor man's patek or the active man's patek?
