I really wish they’d make a navy coat in heavier wool. I’ve been pining after the navy balmacaan for a while but the lightweight nature of it compared to others puts me off a bit. I don’t need anything super heavyweight but I do want it to be useful as a coat when I need it to be.

Yes, same. I like the Anglo Italian one as well, but they were sold out pretty quickly.

Around 2 months ago I asked Endclothing if this coat is donegal or regular navy wool but seems they don't understand difference and replied as per tag it's made of virgin wool, which means regular navy, I guess.
Another thing: I ordered this coat in size 40 on Black Friday sale, but order was cancelled -as Endclothing explained me this is because technical error in their warehouse database and in fact their don't have this coat in stock.
So better check in advance and ask if they actually restock it.
That's really not a good look for them.
Personally, I have ordered from the twice. The first time, everything went super smooth. The second time, delivery took a long time (twice as long) and my package arrived pretty beat-up. The latter might not have been their fault though, I don't know. So yeah, I've had better overall experiences shopping online but it was alright.

I actually tried to order through endclothing but couldn't make the process work. Also it is not clear to me what I will pay in the end, because of tax and import duties applied later. Could be even more expensive.
I feel you @slows2k but I decided to look above the lighter weight and appreciate the design details. Other coats are certainly better value in the EU (think PS x PWVC) but the high back vent and the ticket pocket sell it for me. Cannot help my foolish mind!

i've heard great things about the Bellief bals from All Blues Co in the UK. they're essentially Drake's raglan clones but are apparently really decent quality

Same here ;) In that case, don't worry, shipping from End is all taxes and duties included (at least it was in my case).
Wow then this would be quite a deal. 750 quid less than on the Drake's website.
Let's hope that it's the donegal version with the ticket pocket and I am happy!

I feel like when I’ve seen those modeled on their instagram they look thin. Might still be great quality but may not have the drape one looks for in a coat like that. Happy to be wrong, though.

I feel exactly the same about the drakes balmacaan, i just love the overall design. I have the balmacaan from PWVC/PS as well as the double breasted tweed coat and both are fantastic. Been toying with just buying one of the navy versions of these instead. Leaning toward the donegal navy for the weight, mostly.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
