Can anyone tell me if the drakes wool beanies/watch caps fit larger heads well? I have one from permanent style I love but really is too small for my large head. Wondered if any of the frames offerings might fit a little larger.

Or, if they don’t, anyone have a lead on ones that are better for guys with big heads?

I love my beanie from Howlin'. It's incredibly warm and fits my big head (lol). I have longer hair too.

Available in many other colors on sale at the moment too.

Has anyone handled or own both the Northampton-made Drake's footwear and C&J footwear. Is the quality similar? They are in the same price range but the Drake's seem (very) likely to be made by Cheaney.

I was also interested and looked into it. It's Cheaney. Found it by comparing factory floor photos from Cheaney to photos from Drake's editorial on their Northampton-made shoes (see links below). Was kinda disappointed because I expected them to be made by C&J or Cannons/Foster.

Thanks all. I was also looking at those Howlin beanies too, so thats helpful. I might contact Drakes in NY to see what they have in stock, since shipping at least is cheaper from there to Cali.

If anyone wants a navy PS watch cap thats only been worn twice for $50.00, let me know. It's going on the 'bay otherwise. Great piece, just better for medium sized and down heads.

Just took delivery of the navy donegal raglan coat. Fit is great, but the fabric is relatively thin? I can actually see through it… :) Anyone here care to opine on its warmness?

And how do you like the donegal navy versus the normal navy raglan?

Thanks!

I asked about it's warmth a few pages ago and got quite a lot of comprehensive answers. Support also told me the navy wool and navy donegal coat share the same fabric weight, but due to it's different weave the donegal should feel lighter.

Anyyyyyways where are some pictures mate?

I will get the navy raglan donegal too I think. At least when they restock it in a 40...

Mine did. Have you checked all the pockets, outside and inside?
Yes, I've checked. It seems buttons were lost in their Savile Row store, since mine was sourced and shipped from there.
OK, will ask Drake's to send them.

In case you or anyone else is interested: Endclothing has one (and apparently only one) in stock in a 40 (https://www.endclothing.com/gb/drak...html?queryID=63f58eb87b5e905b808b85b8b4dadf28). It says 'Drake's Raglan Coat Navy' but the pics look like the navy donegal to me. Price might even be slightly cheaper than ordering directly from Drake's (at least it is in the EU).

Around 2 months ago I asked Endclothing if this coat is donegal or regular navy wool but seems they don't understand difference and replied as per tag it's made of virgin wool, which means regular navy, I guess.
Another thing: I ordered this coat in size 40 on Black Friday sale, but order was cancelled -as Endclothing explained me this is because technical error in their warehouse database and in fact they don't have this coat in stock.
So better check in advance and ask if they actually restock it.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
