I had forgotten until recently but they had a line of chelsea boots rubber soled not dissimilar from something like RM Williams. I think it was maybe 3-4 years ago? Otherwise I think only other high boots have been from Alden.
They sold RM Williams Gardener boots a few years ago. You might be thinking of those.

Thanks Wim. Sorry i should probably have been clearer, I'm aware many mills make plenty of gun club checks (indeed Fox would usually be my starting point, and they do make many) but it is that particular cloth that I'm after. Such a beautiful mix of dark browns and green/orange/purple, i can't find it anywhere. (Fox's SP17 https://foxflannel.com/collections/sports-jacketing/products/sp17 comes close, but isn't quite right.)
Did you ever find out which mill this fabric came from?

I hope we all having a great weekend, we have been adding more Drake's to our site if you have not visited us in a while. Plus we have 20% off everything store-wide. So go check us out, plenty stock for you but also see our other brands and even maybe the things for your partners in the womenswear or home section.

Hey everyone, I have been looking at getting the Navy reversible Raglan Mac but have a couple questions before pulling the trigger. I wear a size 42 in jackets/sport coats but have a Waxed jacket from drakes in a size 42 which is a bit big on me. Should I be sizing down with the Raglan Mac or stay TTS? Additionally, I live in the Pacific Northwest where it doesn’t frequently get freezing and I was hoping this would be my main winter jacket, can any owners comment on the warmth (or lack of) of this piece? Any comments are greatly appreciated!

I’m between sizes 38-40 depending on the piece, brand etc. I’ve only tried Drake’s games tailoring and I’m a size 40 in it, you can check the pics from above on how it fits. I think it’s safe downsizing one of you are in between sizes, but in the end it just depends on the garment and how you intend to wear it.

You can go either way, I could easily wear a size 40 and it won’t look like a tent because of how is the fit of the raglan.
Okay thanks, but for clarification, you chose true to size then? I like how the coat fits you. But I tried on the grey PoW tts but it was way too big.

My chest size is closer to 40” than 38”, so I would say I downsized one. As I said, I’m between sizes, size 40 in Drake’s are a bit looser on me compared to 38 but allows to layer, sleeve length is always a bit long though.

If you know your true size go down one to achieve a similar fit to mine ;)

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
