Hi guys, washing my cotton canvas chore jacket for the first time this weekend, was just wondering how you fine fellows go about this please? Want to make sure I don’t mess it up as it’s my favourite piece atm! Thank you

I wash my heavy cotton chore at 30 degrees and hang it up to dry. Don't worry, it is a quality garment, nothing will happen to it.

Have been considering a pair of the Clifford desert boots in dark brown. I'm sold on the versatility of a desert boot with much of the clothing I wear, but wondered what peoples experiences with them have been. I used to have a pair of the Astorflex version and really liked them, but wished they were a little sleeker-something which appears to be true for the Drakes iteration. Anyone have a pair who can advise on sizing and how they wear in/last?

Would you buy them again?

I've owned the Clifford, but sold them. I have somewhat wide feet, and they did not fit me at all. I would highly recommend based on looks, but if you have wide feet I would try or buy with a return option.

I have both, but never wear the Astorflex anymore. The Clifford is sleeker, with a less bulbous toe cap. Also (I go by feel here) the rubber sole of all the Drake's Crepe models is softer than the Astorflex sole.
They are comfortable from day one. The Clifford also has a softer heel region (more like a "real" desert boot) while the heel on the Astoflex is more rigid.

I have narrow feet and the Clifford fits well, so @PeterHH2024 advice for wider feet should be considered.

Hope that helps.

Check out the Montflex model, it has the sleeker toe box.

Thanks for the input everyone. My foot is slightly wide so its possible sizing might not work out, and I don't want to order multiple sizes if I don't have to. I also was hesitant to drop the full price on something with quite soft soles that would wear quickly.

Hot tip on the Montflex @LiamMcM. I was unfamiliar with that model but it looks closer to the Drakes Clifford. My old astorflex were the greenflex, so definitely bulkier at the toe. Leffot had some Montflex left in dark brown and I ordered one to try them out.

An aside, Todd Snyder had some house brand desert boots I thought looked and felt very nice (when I saw them in person last F/W) that might also be an alternative to Drakes at lower cost. Sizing is a crap shoot but they were also more streamlined than the Greenflex.
