It wasn’t a straightforward process. Parcels marked as anything other than a return may be hit with tax and duties, if applicable, upon delivery overseas. At the same time, stallion advised that their sorting facility checks over all the parcels so if they see any return type parcel, they’ll just decline it. I used a shipping method with DDP so I’d pay tax and duties if it was levied upon delivery.

I occasionally send things to the EU with Stallion. I've only had one instance where the receiver didn't get their package, which is where paying for the insurance comes in handy.

I never check Netparcel for quotes nowadays, because their rates are always high for me.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I want to point out that this is how Stallion and Chit Chats operate as well. Their fulfillment centres in Niagara Falls, NY are used as the addresses when you ship to the USA and abroad, which is why their prices are competitive.

Though technically, you're supposed to be using their services for retail selling/purchases, and not for returns. @rwtc did you go through with Stallion for your Carmina return in the end?

What a pain...
I guess you guys are just rolling the dice then eh
Stil...perhaps worth rolling the dice than pay these outrageous Canada Post or UPS return fees...It's just so bad

Hoping someone here has experience with a skilled horologist in the GTA. I'm looking for a shop to service a vintage Girard Perregeaux. Any recommendations?

What about automatics? Any go to places?
reupping this -- I have an auto-chrono that needs a repair. Any advice of where to service appreciated.

I used Bolduc Watch Services in Mississauga for an issue with my GP and I was happy with their service and attention to detail. Hope that helps.

Awesome, thanks.

Who's best for jeans alterations? Not typical stuff like hemming or tapering. I would like to add crotch gusset, plus take in extra material at the small of the back (underneath the waistband, where the stitching makes a +).

Already know about Viapiana, went on his website for contact info, and it says he does not take outside alterations work now. So I guess what's the next best option?

Thanks!

He does but the wait time could be an issue. He’s never said no to be for alterations even for a pair of jeans I asked him to make he is now at 8 weeks. The man is swamped as he should be as he is the best denim marker

Fellas - looking for a first suit for my nephew (he’s 19) but the problem is he’s very skinny. As such, he may need a SZ 34 or even 32 suit.

Anyone know where one can find these sizes in Toronto? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah I’m open to whatever, not about name brands. I think SuSu sells SZ 34 so I’m gonna call them and some other places tomorrow. Thanks for the tip!

They definitely carry 34R, as I used to be in that size range. SM does as well, although their B&M might be a bit of trek depending on where you're located.

Thanks - so you know the approximate shoulder width of a SuSu size 34?

The last size 34 I got from them was a Napoli back in like 2016. Not sure if the measurements would be different nowadays but I'll measure it for you when I get home from work.

Gents, some footwear rebuilds by Dan Frappier at Heels n Soles in Sudbury.

Some rebuilds by Dan Frappier.

1. Florsheim 92604s that got stacked leather wedge soles. Unconventional but I find them very comfortable as my WFH shoes, and also they're different;

2. Florsheim NSTs that got the full monty. JR midsoles, outsoles, Florsheim stamping inside and out, cat paw heels, toe taps, new welts, and new french binding;

3. Boulet boots that got speed hooks and a Vibram outsole for the winter;

4. Chippewa Ellisons that got new outsoles;

5. House flip flops that got new outsoles. They definitely grip much better now.
