I’m at a bay st law firm, we’re expected to be in 2-3 days a week but it looks emptier than that. Still, our ethos apparently calls for in person work so the management is trying to encourage more people to come in, so far carrots only, no sticks.
I expect a mass exodus if people are forced to return 2-3 times a week. I'm at a government agency and the organization has reduced the HQ space by about 75% and nobody is forced to work in person. Except the staff lawyers and paralegals directly working at the courthouses.
I WFH unless in trial or arguing an appeal. Some clients I meet in person. I will also likely go in once a week to mentor the student.
