Disco strings Friday. Goody Goody, "It looks like Love" bubble gum sexy vocals (and the LP's cover art) could overshadow how good this track is, but the relentless bass groove and some nice solos are woven into this one and shine.

Disco strings Friday. Maybe a dance floor killer to get everyone off the floor (you can nod along as you head to the bar for a drink). Take a break. You deserve it.

80s LA punk jazz skate video. How the hell does there exist a record of this even happening?

Same Era. Fishbone.

Disco string friday. Prelude records edition. Nice little harp plucks. This one just gets to work. Patrick Adams composed this one. Super nice stripped down breakdown that's pretty much house music.

"The video combines Nicolas Ghesquière’s Fall 2007 and Spring 2010 Balenciaga runways. By collaging the footage, I cut up and rearranged the shows’ original soundtracks, creating, in turn, a new audio work. I was thinking about how the ideology of capitalist progress is upheld by an illusion of historical continuity created through nationalism. I was interested in the role fashion plays in maintaining this illusion, and how it reacts to political and economic crises that threaten it. The two collections were a contemporary take on street style and framed a period of unrest in French and international politics. Undoubtedly affected by the mood outside of his Paris atelier, Ghesquière had intentionally abandoned historical references to Cristóbal Balenciaga’s designs and focused instead on the history being made on his doorstep. The success of the Fall 2007 “student” collection was a testament to the designer’s ability to effectively read the room and quickly acknowledge the processes that drive events. More cynically, it allowed Kering – the global luxury group that owns Balenciaga – to proceed with the introduction of inter-season Resort and Pre-Fall collections to the yearly fashion schedule. A push for more luxury goods amidst an escalating financial crisis probably raised a few eyebrows, but in the context of political protests of the time, it had an ideological meaning, asserting fashion’s monopoly on the idea of change and putting change in service of progress rather than of justice. If nationalism is a tool for defining what constitutes legitimate political, spatial, and temporal continuities in any given moment, then fashion is employed in this context to create an illusion of a possibility for change exactly where real agency is delegitimized."

Maybe old man music now, but this track has aged well to my ears. Boom bap.
