Caught the Shell Cordovan bug since getting my hands on my first pair of Crockett & Jones Yale in Burgundy a while back, it is indeed such a sumptuous leather. In my younger days, the premium price and comparatively limited styles of Cordovan offerings had sort of barred me from really enjoying them, but having dipped into the Yale had certainly made me a convert reaching Damascus.

I was initially coveting the Harvard in Dark Brown Shell as it has more reviews and perhaps more ubiquitous, then seeing them on the display shelf when getting my Yales had slightly altered my preference, as I tend to wear more casual and separates nowadays and the Whisky would be far more ideally suitable.

Received these just this morning shipped from Tassels Beijing as all stores here are running the end of the year discounts, and could not be more satisfied with the pair, beautiful Horween Whisky Shells just emanates under the sunlight, with consistent outings, brushing, polishing and conditioning should patina them nicely over the lifespan.

Also, having been listening to the Full Grain Podcast in the past few weeks, it is full of great knowledge and conversation, both Skip and Nick Horween are such treasures of their industry and trade, such a wonderful evening healing time when elbow greasing the shoes and hearing them talk.
