Delon never ever takes the coat off in that film, he knows it's a good one

In another Delon Film, "Mr Klein", he can be seen in a number of beautifully cut coats supposedly worn during the Occupation, 1940-44:

Why are today's polo coats just office worker coats with a bourgeois style?

The shoulders of the Spier & McKay posted above are absolutely disgusting, and generally there's a tightening at the hip level that makes the coat look like a woman's dress (as if men needed to emphasize their hips to be aesthetic).

DISGUSTING : this guy (on top of an almost pervert intense look) have 3 times more hip and shoulder (though the shoulders are constructed!)

Also, nowadays the lapels point upward, and sometimes (or even often) intentionally extend beyond the collarbone (which gives a super vain, "look at me" appearance).

Are the lapel some 5g antena ? W-T-F are those ****** lapel ? Explain to me !

In short, who still offers polo coats like this one, or like the vintage one that was posted on the previous page?

Round shoulders, horizontal lapels on the upper pectoral area, vertical drape without hip tightening, and with a well-made back (the spacing, single back belt, etc.).

It's really not harder to make than a tasteless coat for rigid and pedantic office men.

I've been searching for month, i can't see one brand who are making NORMAL , TRADITIONAL, and BEAUTIFULL polo-coat.
Please help my poor soul for i'll be free of my hate after that

Not to overthink this, which guess I am, but a guy with a classic
Aston Martin, who wears tailored clothing, not a poorly dressed "Tech bro",
would not likely to be wearing the cheap offerings of Spier and McKay. To
me, their clothing is well-styled for the price point. However they missed on this
Polo Coat. Note the Ralph Lauren flap on the breast pocket . Very smart marketing
to attract aspirational Ralph Lauren customers who don't have the means for
Ralph's collections.

This meets some of your criteria, but maybe not all. You might need to go bespoke or vintage.

The 1rst photo isn't a Spier one, but another costing 2K

If you are asking 350 for a horrible cutted coat, the fact that it's 350 do not forgive anything of the horrible cut

For the breast pocket, I think it's ugly ; polo coat is so simple and elegant

They are all sophisticazing for nothing

It's getting ugly as hell

No problem. I'm in the hunt for a polo coat as well. I'm thinking of bespoke. If I decided to go RTW, it would be this one.
+1, I wonder if their trunk show teams would carry this coat around so we can try them on. I think I've emailed them asking about it once, but no reply (to be fair that was a last minute email towards the tail end of their NY trunk show at the time).

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
