Damn. The lowest price I can find per bottle right now is $700 and the lowest complete 3-pack with case is 2.2k. All in, with tax and shipping, it was 1.3k for the three pack. That's just a few weeks after release so I imagine this RP 100 point wine will continue to climb.

Need some input on champagne again. I can buy the following bottles effectively at cost.

J. Lassalle Preference NV -30
Benoît Lahaye Rose de Maceration - 53
Pierre Paillard Les Parcelles -35
Benoît Lahaye Brut Nature -48
Laherte Freres Ultradition - 30

I’m particularly tempted by the Benoît Lahaye as I’ve heard great things but haven’t actually tasted any of these bottles. Would you jump on any of these? Thanks in advance.

I've had the J. Lassalle (Meunier-heavy from Vallee de la Marne) and the Pierre Paillard (Pinot Noir from Bouzy). The J. Lassalle is pretty decent, but I really like the Pierre Paillard. I'd totally buy any of those, though, especially at those prices.

Okay, FP comes out with a winning offer two days in a row. I just put in for six of the Bedrock Heritage and six of the Zin. Bedrock is really hard to get an simply awesome stuff.

Bedrock is great. Even the plain old Old Vine Zin is really, really good (and it's cheap). So's the North Coast Syrah. (I also really like their sparkling wine project, Under the Wire. Of course, those are even harder to get than the Bedrock bottlings.)

Have had far more BdB than Pinot Noir focused champ. I drink about a bottle or two per week with dinner, but more than willing to fill out a cellar especially for the stuff that would benefit from being held back. This is great feedback, especially since I’m in the very very nascent stages of drinking bubbles.
Don’t discount the grand marquees. I do find their stuff quite enjoyable and drinkable after letting the bottles lie around for a few years. If you treat the bubbles like wine and let them age, they will give much more pleasure. Because they are made like wines but sold like fast moving consumer products.

Wow. Cru Beauj is just such good stuff. Stemmy, juicy goodness.

Whole cluster. Nice use of oak. Highly recommend. Had with pasta/red sauce tonight.

Very distinctive St. Helena cab. Whole-berry barrel fermented in 100% new oak. Rich and ripe but also pure and savory. Outstanding!
