Back to the task at hand. It's Friday before Spring Break, my kids are away (one with school, one with sports team), I'm drinking lunch!

It's been a little while, but we used to regularly pop a bottle of Gruet for our sunset end-of-day tipple. (cheap) NM sparkler FTW!

Good morning, guys and gals.

Finally, getting to Italy. Tuscany, in particular. We’ll be based in Chianti, but happy to drive for great wineries.

Want to visit Ornellaia and love Super Tuscans, especially.

Any favourites you have that would be good for a tasting?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Fattoria La Massa -- more reasonable prices and v. high quality.

Good stuff. Single vineyard from Lakeview in Green Valley. Mostly Pommard clone.

Well, I’d certainly drink it again if somebody gave it to me but for $50 I could name 5 other $10 Bordeaux’s that’s I’d rather drink.
Funny story that relates to this but I first bought it at the recommendation of a local wine shop. I went online to see if I could get better prices and sure enough there were places that were $10 cheaper per bottle with free shipping. I ordered six but they sent me two shipments of six. Ended up being about $20 per bottle in the end. (And I waited to see if anyone would contact me to return the mistake... they never did)

How many did you pour down the drain?
Assume that was a dig at me.

Are you suggesting that it is better to have a ****** experience with a wine that is not to my taste?

I just won’t finish stuff I don’t like. Move on to the next bottle and take it as a data point.

Has zero to do with cost. My house wine, that I really like and of which go through a few cases a year is sub $20 after case discounts.
