I feel like I make up for passing on the things I should buy by purchasing things I shouldn't. Harris Tweed / Guard's for Garcia. Sz 38 or 40. Anyone know anything about Guard's or Garcia?
Carroll & Co linen jacket. Sz 41.
I bought this next one because of Hudson Bay Co.s association with Woolrich, whose shirt jackets I love. That's all I knew of them. Looked more into when I got home and couldn't find much. Anyways, can anyone tell me if I wasted my money on this one? Personally, I'd wear it if it fit, but it doesn't.

I got 2 pairs Churches Custom Grade tassel loafers and a pair of Churches boots in my size today.

The boots are not from Custom Grade line and there is no "made in England" marked anywhere. They seem to be made in Italy from the style and the super thin outsoles.

I subscribe to Spoo's theory of "slubiness".
Shiny tie=slubby (flatter finish) square (ex: silk tie/linen square)
Slubby tie= shiny square. (ex: wool tie/silk square)
I may not have it quite right but that's my understanding of the concept. Also, Spoo has broken me of the habit of loafers w/suit although I understand you were working the theme in this fit.
Overall very presentable. Post more pics. I'm so lonely now.

But no leather jackets. ;)

OK, that's the second Carroll & Co. jacket I've seen lately, so I think I'll ask: Anyone want me to proxy a navy Carroll & Co blazer, gold buttons, half canvas (I think), about a size 42R in my estimation? Ran across it today, seen them mentioned in this thread, can't use it, maybe someone could give it a good home. It's been in my local GW for like a month-plus.

I don't know if they were dropping stuff off or not. It's not out of the norm to see types of cars like those in this particular area, however. I am sure they were just in another store. It was just funny to see cars like this in front of a store where the not so wealthy were buying clothing.

And where abouts are you located?? What kind of Bugatti was it? If you say the Veyron, my wife will literally come down there and cruise the streets trying to find it

Just go to San Diego. I see Veryron's weekly when I'm out that way. I joke with my step-father about the AMG Mercedes, as they dont seem to make any in SD that are not AMG. CL63 this and SL65 that. It's kind of funny.

A couple of pictures from my OLD job (which I miss). Last one is my fav!

Is this insane or devilishly clever? http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/06/now-shopping-ralph-lauren-kids/

I'm not quite that size, but this piece sounds like it was screaming Brianpore's name, um, 2 years ago.

It's true. I have a few "kids" sizes and almost picked up a size 18 BB Blazer today. The only MAJOR downside is that the kids items are not up to the quality I am looking for. No Ralph Lauren Purple Label or Kiton for Kids (although that would be epic

At one store I go to it is not uncommon to see brand new BMWs, Audis, Mercedes, Lexus', etc there. Thing is, it's a stand-alone parking lot just for the GW. They shop there and suck up a lot of the designer clothes. One day a lady gasped and quickly snatched three Armani Collezioni shirts off a "new arrivals" rack. Didn't think anything of it, really. Nothing I would have grabbed. She was behind me in the checkout line. This was the day I bought the paintings I mentioned several pages back so I was trying to carefully arrange them in the back of the car so the frames wouldn't scratch each-other. As I was doing so, I noticed her get into the brand spankin new BMW X5 M parked next to me. A damn SUV that costs as much as the house a friend of mine just purchased. :brick:

E Lexington's size 10.5 D (available):

1st Charvet (!):
P1010136.jpg

Passed on a pair of blue incotex trousers. They were in good shape save for a 'mole' where the reweaver (?) tried to sew this glob similar fabric in a place where a hole might have been. Really look like a darker stain from afar, though.

Quick question: do you guy reject a jacket (in a trade) because the lining has a gash? Mine is about 2 inches long. I could sew it together, but I think it would look worse.

No thrift finds today, unfortunately, but I did have one find in consignment, and I do have

Luciano Barbera Collezionie Sartoriale (made by St. Andrews with the labels to match) - there were several of these, all size 46-48. I should point out that not all had the St. Andrews tag, so some might have been by Attolini or Partenopea... I bought this one based on fit - this was the largest, most were more like a 46, so if any of you gents are inclined to like this kind of thing, feel free to PM me for a proxy - this is consignment, but the prices are fair IMO. All basically NWOT - one even had the tags in the pocket IIRC.

This one is 15% cashmere, 15% baby camel hair (wtf?) and 70% wool... it reminds me of nothing so much as a new-school take on an old-style Brooks Brothers tweed jacket.
Oh... and it came with the Barbera hanger ;)

This one is a recent find off Yoox - a couple of gents tipped me to this one, thank you kindly, Achilles & Klobber! It was $154 shipped, I was hoping it was Sartoria Parma from the Yoox label, but it's just Caruso mainline. Still, thankful it was NWT because the tags confirmed that it is in fact a sport coat. This SC is the reason I'm in the market for a Raffaele Caruso hanger. ;)

Finally, these two suits came from a member on this thread who will remain nameless to avoid flooding him with PM's! He was kind enough to do cost+shipping+gas on these two suits, both of which fit me spot on and are already anchors in my closet! Still looking out for any way to return the favor... thank you again, member-to-remain-nameless!

Recent Brioni suit (yes, I know, the lapels need to be repressed pretty badly) - it's black, but a more matte/flannelly finish than my older black suit, which was very shiny and slick. Sadly, I'll probably have occasion to wear it more than I'd care to before the year is out. This thing is awesome, though. Lapels need to be re-pressed BADLY, did I mention that? The prior owner obviously kept it put away for the most part.

Oxxford grey herringbone Super 100's suit, paper label, dated late 1999 and early 2000 - probably measurement date and then production or delivery date? Gotten heavy use out of this one already. :slayer:

We can't all be that lucky to drive a Scirocco. It used to give me wet dreams when I was young. Some of us may be driving beamers you know even if not spanking new. As a poor substitute. :embar:

I've come to the conclusion don't go through my thrift purchases quickly enough to either sell or trade and soon forget I bought them. Case in point...went down to the basement to check some potential inventory for trade. Found a NWOT Brooks Brothers khaki car coat (size L and quite available) I now recall buying sometime last year and a bunch of pants in my size that I must have set aside to get to the tailor and drycleaner. Legit stuff - 3 pairs of PRL made in italy, flat front zanellas, Canalis and a pair of Brionis. Best find of the night was a J Press Presidential Line Donegal Mist tweed which was buried under the pants. Tried it on...way too big on me. Probably a 42 or 44.

I feel like I just went on a thrift run in my own house. That cannot be good.

Some hastily thrown together pics of the aforementioned.
3/2 Sack measures out a 42 - 44L - little bit of cashmere in there

Maybe I'm just obsessive...but as soon as I get home, I put everything into my excel spreadsheet with description/cost/size/measurements. Easy way to remember what you have before it gets lost under piles of other clothes
