Interesting footnote on my wool trou stain removal experimentation. I'd honed a process that worked quite well. So well, in fact, that I ran it on some of my own stock and sale stock -- including 2 Kiton cashmere blend, 1 Brioni, 2 Battistoni, 1 Rafael Caruso, 1 Borrelli, 1 Loro Piana and several others. They all came out looking SPEC - TACULAR.

Until I brought them to the cleaners to get pressed.

They came back with the waistbands just as, if not more blemished than before, though clearly by dye, and not by bodily fluids. Something about what I did combined with the dry cleaning/pressing process made the dye in the wool run into the lining, giving it an unfortunate blotched look. They're obviously clean -- I mean, I hit them with a pre treat, a soak in detergent, 3 rinse and spin cycles and a dry cleaning.

But they look like Sh1t.

#Igiveup.

So what you're saying is, they look fantastic until a buyer does something that technically alters them from their purchased state.

Stopped in at the Goodwill down the street from my house. In addition to a Burberry London buttondown and a nice Brooks Brothers linen ss shirt for my upcoming beach vaca, also picked up a fistful of ties. These were the nicest.



Zegna, Brioni, Charvet, and Pierre Cardin (I know, usually not worth a pickup, but I dig a nice knit silk tie.)
