Another quickie bins hit. I can only imagine if I stuck around all day. I just can't swing it though.

The chuck Taylor's technically fit me, but my wife was like "you're not wearing those ridiculous clown shoes around me". Tough crowd.

The Loake wingtips are about 8.5US. Too small, but same size as my friend who works on my tube gear (and he's British) ?

Haven't posted in a long while. Here are some of my recent finds (true thrifts and one e-thrift).
It's been a tough year with the passing of my father in December. Things have slowly gotten better since. Until recently, I had completely switched off from thrifting. I've missed the forum and lurking the thread has slowly rekindled the desire to go on the "hunt". Took some time to get over the hurdle/mental barrier of posting this.

Glad you're back man, and hope you're healing well. Trauma is such a difficult part of life, and everyone copes differently, but I'm glad to hear you're finally feeling well enough to get back to something you enjoy.

The rest of today’s finds. The waxed jacket is a waxed linen chore coat, pretty cool. Never heard of the brand, Work Rest Karma, seems nice but not many comps. Also, is Etro skeet?

Guys, the Brunello has a hole in the shoulder, not huge but not small. Should I try to sell as is or attempt a repair with a tailor?

Reweaving is stupid expensive. Just fair warning.

There are a couple of members of this thread (can't remember names - and too lazy to search) who are quite adept at reweaving. The results were amazing.
Locally, there's a place in Homewood that does great tweed reweaving. They can fix a 3mm area for about $120.

Thanks, I'm doing alright. Appreciating life, spending more time with loved ones and letting the little things slide.

That place in Homewood, I think it's ABC something, is where I'm basing the stupid expensive part from. If someone on this forum can beat their prices and results, I would love to get a new contact.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
